Level I Foundations

The new Level I creates a single course with all the information a new member needs. It is organized into three basic blocks of instruction, each containing three to six lessons. These online lessons take between 5-15 minutes to read, and each has a short quiz at the end. It should take members 2.5 – 3.0 hours to complete the lessons.

The final lesson asks the new member, the unit’s Professional Development Officer and unit Commander to complete a “Plan of Action” to follow over the first 18 months. It’s a framework to help the member blend into the unit and become a fully contributing member.

(Operational Security Awareness Training (OPSEC) is not included in the Level I course. OPSEC if mandatory for all members at the time of eServices registration and is a condition of initial access to eServices.)

ACCESSING THE COURSE

Access Level I training by signing into eServices and selecting/highlighting “Online Learning” on the left menu.  The right menu updates to show the available Applications.  Select the “Learning Management System” bringing up the online courses.  “Level I Orientation” is the first course in the list. The associated pamphlets are CAPP 50-4, Vol 1 and 2.

Course Validation

The unit Commander will be notified upon completing the course.  Once the Commander validates the course, the new member will receive credit for Level I and may begin further training.
